- • Proof of identity and date of birth
Required Documents
- Valid passport with US visa, I-94, or EAD
- Social Security card
- Two proofs of Arkansas residency (utility bill, bank statement, lease agreement)
- Birth certificate or passport as primary ID
Steps
- 1 Verify your immigration status qualifies for an Arkansas license
- 2 Gather all required documents
- 3 Visit a Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) revenue office
- 4 Complete the driver license application
- 5 Pass the written knowledge test (25 questions, need 20 correct)
- 6 Pass the vision test
- 7 Pay the $40 application fee
- 8 Schedule and pass the driving skills test
Important Notes
- Arkansas requires proof of lawful presence and a valid SSN — an ITIN does not substitute for SSN
- Non-citizens receive a license that expires with their authorized stay period
