- • Proof of Georgia residency
- • Proof of identity and date of birth
Required Documents
- Valid passport with US visa, I-94, or EAD
- Social Security card
- Two proofs of Georgia residency (utility bill, bank statement, lease)
- I-94, I-797, or DACA approval notice
Steps
- 1 Verify your immigration status qualifies for a Georgia license
- 2 Gather all required documents
- 3 Visit a Georgia DDS (Department of Driver Services) office
- 4 Complete the driver license application form
- 5 Pass the written knowledge test (40 questions, need 30 correct)
- 6 Pass the vision test
- 7 Pay the $32 application fee
- 8 Schedule and pass the road skills test
Important Notes
- Georgia requires proof of lawful presence and a valid SSN — an ITIN does not substitute for SSN
- DACA recipients with EAD and SSN can obtain a limited-term license
