Required Documents
- Valid passport with US visa, I-94, or EAD
- Social Security card
- Proof of Idaho residential address (utility bill, bank statement, lease)
- I-20 or DS-2019 for student visa holders
Steps
- 1 Verify your immigration status qualifies for an Idaho license
- 2 Gather all required documents

- 5 Pass the written knowledge test (40 questions, need 34 correct)
- 6 Pass the vision test
- 7 Pay the $30 application fee

Important Notes
- Idaho requires proof of lawful presence and an SSN — an ITIN does not substitute
- Temporary licenses for non-citizens expire when immigration authorization expires
