Oklahoma: ITIN Driver's License Guide
Requirements
- • Proof of lawful presence in the United States
- • Valid SSN (ITIN alone is not accepted)
- • Proof of Oklahoma residency
- • Proof of identity
Required Documents
- Valid foreign passport with US visa, I-94, EAD, or I-797 approval notice
- Social Security card (SSN required)
- Two proofs of Oklahoma residency (utility bill, lease, bank statement)
- Birth certificate or valid passport for identity verification
Steps
- 1 Obtain SSN through authorized immigration/employment status
- 2 Gather all required documents
- 3 Visit an Oklahoma DPS Tag Agency or Driver Exam location
- 4 Complete the driver's license application
- 5 Pass the written knowledge test (50 questions, need 40 correct)
- 6 Pass the vision test
- 7 Pay the $21.25 application fee
- 8 Schedule and pass the driving skills test
Important Notes
- Oklahoma requires proof of lawful presence — an ITIN alone is NOT sufficient for a driver's license
- License validity is tied to the authorized period of stay shown on immigration documents
